Power Shakes

"Early in the morning, it's super tough for me to eat right away, but I still need energy for practice. I try to start out with a protein smoothie, a green juice, or some sort of fruit."



Smoothies, especially the ones you make at home from whole fruits and vegetables, are usually high in vitamins, minerals, and many other beneficial nutrients. So lets get blending!


Ingredients:

1 Avocado

3/4 cup - Blueberries (frozen)

Strawberries

1 Cup - Almond Milk

1 Scoop - Vanilla Protein powder (optional)

1 Tbsp - Lemon Juice

1 Tsp - Cinnamon

1 Tbsp - Ground flax seeds


Directions:

  1. To a blender, add the cut and sliced avocado.

  2. Add in the blueberries and strawberries

  3. Next, add the dry ingredients (the protein powder, cinnamon and flax seeds).

  4. Add the lemon juice and almond milk. Place cover on top and blend.

  5. Pour and enjoy!
