High Protein Turkey Sliders

"When I'm in need of a quick meal or party dish, a burger is hands-down my go-to pick! Burgers are easy, fast, and don't even require utensils to eat, making them the perfect get-together main course, tailgating essential, and simple dinner recipe to whip up any night of the week."

Saying goodbye to summer is difficult for some people, not me, but I've heard! lol

And if you want to hold on to summer for just a little bit longer before fully succumbing to apple pies and pumpkin spice lattes, then you should definitely give these high protein turkey sliders a go!

They are easy to make, easy to store and frankly, are great for any time of the year! Juicy, savoury and healthy; what more could you ask for!

Happy eating!

This recipe yields about 10-12 Servings.

1 Serving = 348 calories, 10g fat, 35g protein and 35g carbs.

Ingredients:

1lb - Extra Lean Ground Turkey

1 Egg White

1 Red Onion (medium-sized/diced)

1/4 cup - Cilantro (diced)

1/2 tsp - Ground Cumin

1-2 tsp - Salt

8-12 Whole Wheat Slider buns or Dinner Rolls

Lettuce

1 Tomato (sliced)

1 Avocado (sliced)

Optional:

Mozzarella Cheese (sliced or shredded)

Directions:

  1. Heat a frying pan on medium heat with a little bit of olive oil.

  2. In a large bowl, add in your minced extra lean turkey, cilantro, ground cumin, red onion, egg white and salt. Use a wooden spoon or your hands to mix.

  3. Roll a handful of the turkey mixture into small burger patties and fry for 6-7 minutes on each side with the pan covered.

  4. Prepare the sliders. Slice your tomatoes, avocado, lettuce and whole wheat slider buns. Layer as desired and add on mozzarella (optional).

  5. Because the sliders are so small and the burgers are so thick, you may need to hold the sliders together with wooden skewers.

  6. Enjoy!
