Quick Noodle Recipe

Updated: Feb 25, 2022

“Gastronomy, has been the joy of all peoples through the ages. It produces beauty and wit and goes hand in hand with goodness of heart and a consideration of others.”

-- Charles Pierre Monselet (1825-88) French journalist and author.

I'll keep this short; I want to share a very simple TVP tomato sauce and noodle recipe.

It's VERY easy to put together and practically takes no time at all, so I hope you'll give it a go!

There, done! Now let's move on to the actual recipe!

Happy eating!

Ingredients:

1 tbsp - Olive Oil

1 Onion (peeled and diced or chopped)

1 tbsp - Garlic (minced or paste)

1/2 cup - Red Cabbage (julienned)

1 cup - TVP (soaked and drained)

1 cup - Crushed Tomatoes

1/2 cup (109ml) - Water

Noodles

Salt (to taste)

Black Pepper (to taste)

1 tbsp - Thyme

1/2 tbsp - Parsley (or use fresh)

Directions:

1. In a heat-safe bowl, pour in your TVP and add enough boiling water to adequately cover the TVP. Cover and soak the TVP for 5 minutes.

2. After 5 minutes, drain and set aside.

3. In a frying pan, pour in your olive oil. Turn up the heat to medium and add in the onions.

4. After sauteing the onions for about 5 minutes, add the garlic and red cabbage.

5. After an additional 5 minutes, add the TVP, tomato sauce, water and spice. Stir to fully incorporate everything and allow the sauce to simmer on low while to cook the pasta.

6. Follow the directions on the packaging for the pasta. Drain and add the pasta, with a little pasta water, to the sauce and mix until all the pasta is completely covered.

7. Serve and enjoy!
