Green Avocado Sauce

"There's a great metaphor that one of my doctors uses: If a fish is swimming in a dirty tank and it gets sick, do you take it to the vet and amputate the fin? No, you clean the water. So, I cleaned up my system. By eating organic raw greens, nuts and healthy fats, I am flooding my body with enzymes, vitamins and oxygen."

If you love getting your greens in fun, interesting and delicious ways, then I believe this sauce is right up your alley!

It's savoury and smooth, with just a hint of a kick from the black pepper and jalapeno. If you don't want it too spicy, leave out the jalapeno, but definitely keep the black pepper. This sauce will go great on anything, so try it on anything! Beef, chicken, tofu, pasta, etc. Give it a go, and let me know what you think!

Happy eating!

Ingredients:

1 Avocado (ripe)

2 cups (214g) - Broccoli (steamed)

1 tbsp - Nutritional Yeast

1/2 tbsp - Minced Garlic

398ml can - Coconut Milk

1 tbsp - Salt (or to taste)

1 tsp - Black Pepper

Optional:

1 Jalapeno (diced)

Directions:

  1. Cut the avocado and remove the seed. Scoop out the flesh and place into a powerful blender or food processor.

  2. Add in the nutritional yeast, salt, black pepper, garlic, broccoli and the jalapeno (if you want a bit a heat!).

  3. Next, pour in half of the can of Coconut milk, and blend on high until smooth and thick.

  4. Pour the green mixture into a pan. Gradually add the rest of the milk.

  5. Heat on low for 5-10 minutes and serve on top of your favourite protein or pasta!
